OSU's Brandin Cooks Wins Biletnikoff Award
Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks was named the recipient of the 2013 Fred Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s outstanding college receiver.
Cooks and his Oregon State Beavers will participate in the 2013 SHERATON HAWAI‘I BOWL against Boise State, Tuesday, Dec. 24. Kickoff is 3 p.m. HT on Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium.
Cooks was one of three finalists for the award along with Clemson’s Sammy Watkins and Texas A&M’s Mike Evans. He broke the Pac-12 record with 120 receptions and has 1,670 receiving yards which is 51 shy of breaking the league’s record.
Cooks was also a first-team Walter Camp All-American. He is the third national award winner to play in the SHERATON HAWAI‘I BOWL joining Hawai‘i quarterback Colt Brennan, who won the Sammy Baugh Award in 2006, and Hawai‘i special teams standout Chad Owens, who won the Mosi Tatupu Award in 2004.
